Cotter pins standard GB/T91-2000.
The Cotter pin’s standard range of nominal specifications for the cotter pin is 0.6 ~ 20mm.
Toughness: Each foot of the cotter pin should withstand repeated bending, and the bending part should not break or crack.
Bending method: Pull the cotter pin, any one of its feet partially clamped in the test mold (should not occur flattening phenomenon); and then the cotter pin bent 90 °, back and forth once for a bending.
Test speed should not exceed 60 times/min. test mold should be made out of a semicircular groove hole, its diameter is the nominal specifications of the cotter pin.
The jaws should have a rounded corner of r=0.5mm.
Eyelets should be made as round as possible.
The cotter pin two feet of the cross-section should be round, but the promised cotter pin two feet of the plane and the circumference of the intersection of the radius.
Cotter pin two gaps and two feet of the wrong displacement should not be greater than the nominal specifications of the cotter pin.
Cotter pins promised to be made of openings, the angle between the two feet of the inner plane should be in line with the specifications.
Surface defects: The surface of cotter pins should be free from burrs, irregularities, and harmful defects.

Cotter Pin Installation Specifications
1. The cotter pins used should not be broken, cracked, or rusted;
2. The nominal specification of the cotter pin should be equal to the diameter of the cotter pin hole;
3. Should be split by the root tight, so that the cotter pin does not tamper;
4. The cotter pin opening must be symmetrical, both feet after splitting must be rolled on the round pin or shaft so that the arc of the split part of the arc and the circular pin or shaft are parallel to the arc, and as close as possible to the round pin or shaft so that the two openings angle > 180 °;
5. It is strictly prohibited to replace the cotter pins with wires or other materials.
1. Insert the cotter pin into the cylindrical pin by hand or pliers, and do not drive the cotter pin in with a hammer.
2. Break the cotter pin with a screwdriver.
3. The angle of breaking the cotter pin is 60° in principle. If it touches the workpiece, the cotter pin can be rolled up.
4. When opening the cotter pin, pay attention to making the separated part straight and symmetrical. It is not allowed to be long and short with R shape and on the gap.
5. Fixed slotted nut, the cotter pin opening angle is 60 ° in principle, appropriate screwing and rolling a few turns. However, the cotter pin should be rolled up when there is an obstruction or insufficient insulation distance from the surroundings.
