What is a plastic hopper dryer?

What is the working principle of a plastic hopper dryer?

The use of plastic dryer equipment in the injection molding machine is in the injection molding process, for the use of the processing principle (plastic granules) first to be drying treatment, and then continue production and processing. The application of plastic hopper dryers can reduce the moisture in the raw material, and improve the quality of plastic products.

1. The working principle of the plastic dryer on the injection molding machine is generally based on hot air circulation, using the heating system to heat the air, and evaporating and drying the plastic granules through the hot air circulation.

2. When the plastic granules containing water enter into the hopper of the plastic dryer, the hot air in the barrel will be blown evenly to the surface of the plastic granules, in full contact with it, and the heat will be transferred to the plastic granules so that the water on the surface of the plastic granules will evaporate quickly. The evaporated water will be taken out of the plastic dryer equipment with the hot air through the exhaust hole.

3. When the water evaporation is finished, the plastic granules reach the drying degree, and the plastic dryer stops working such as plastic granules into the injection molding machine to carry out the next step, the plastic dryer and then continue to dry the next barrel.

Structure of the hopper dryer

The main structure of the hopper dryer includes the following parts: shell, heater, fan, conveying system, and control system.

Shell:

The shell of the hopper dryer is usually welded from a steel plate, and the outer surface is painted to protect the internal equipment. The inside of the shell is equipped with insulating materials to reduce energy loss and maintain high heating efficiency.

Heater element:

The heater is one of the core components of the hopper dryer, usually composed of electric or gas heaters. The heater provides heat to the drying chamber, thus evaporating the moisture from the material.

Fan:

The fan of the hopper dryer can accelerate the hot air, thus improving the drying efficiency. The fan is divided into two parts, the air inlet and the air outlet. The air inlet draws air into the hopper dryer and the air outlet discharges the hot air out of the dryer.

Conveying system:

The conveying system is used to transport materials. The material usually enters the dryer through a conveyor belt or screw conveyor and is then discharged from the conveyor system after drying.

Control system:

The control system is another core component of the dryer, which can control the operation of the heater, fan, conveying system, and other equipment. The control system is usually composed of PLC control and touch screen control, which can achieve precise time and temperature control.
